11-11-11 Starts Filming

Production on 11-11-11 the newest film from Darren Lynn Bousman’s (Saw 2, 3 and 4) has begun in Barcelona.

Starring in the film is:

Timothy Gibbs (Witchboard 2), Michael Landes (Final Destination 2, Possession ), Wendy Glenn (“Nip/Tuck”), Lluis Soler, Ángela Rosal, Brendan Price (Dagon), Salomé Jimenez, Benjamin Cook, and Montse Alcoverro .

Below is the press release detailing the plot of the film:

The new horror thriller by Darren Lynn Bouman (SAW II, III, IV), Canónigo Films and Wayne Allan Rice-Capacity Pictures starts shooting in Barcelona from the 17th of January 2011.

The concept is based on the 11:11 phenomenon, whereby the 11th month of the year 2011 at 11h 11m the eleventh door will open and supernatural entities will enter the Earth. Such creepy and mysterious theory of numerology assures that the 11 is a warning from celestial entities who throughout history have tried to communicate with humans. A gripping story full of tension and psychological terror centered in the lives of three people affected by this strange and terrifying event.

The shooting of this new exciting project by who is currently the favorite horror films director among this new fledging boom of horror film directors, and who is installed in Barcelona from December, begins on January the 17th and that will be released worldwide on November the 11th of 2011 (11/11/11). The shooting will involve scenes particularly scary in what spectacular special FX are concerned, meticulously designed, that undoubtedly will leave the audience horrified by its gripping images. Such spectacular scenes will be happening over the months of January and February in various locations in Barcelona city and surroundings. City that has been chosen as the favorite by many directors when locating their films.

The film is set in New York and Barcelona; with scenes ranging from sequences that depict claustrophobic and psychological disturbing situations, to others where a more graphic kind of horror takes over as in classic horror films. Scenes of great aesthetic appeal that reflect one of the paradigms which Bousman is in seek of: “a reflection of the great terrifying abyss facing man, the fear of the unknown and loneliness”, as already Bousman declared in one of his interviews shortly after moving to Barcelona from Los Angeles.

First Image For Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2

Mugglenet has posted the first image from the highly anticipated Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Right now nothing is known of the image. There is no source, no word if this is a fake or a leaked picture.

The watermarks lead me to believe that Warner Bros. did not want this to get out and this might not be an ‘official’ photo.

Jean-Claude Van Damme In The Expendables 2, Seagal Out?

Last summer The Expendables blasted it’s way into movie theaters and was an instant hit financially. The action film has grossed $274,468,524 world-wide. After The Expendables dominated the box-office it’s opening weekend a sequel was already brought up and naturally one will be made.

The big question for the sequel was which action stars past and present would appear in the next installment? Some names that have been thrown around are Chuck Norris, Kurt Russell, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal to name a few.

Well now we have information that could answer some of those questions.

It looks like Jean-Calude Van Damme is close to being cast in the sequel as long as Steven Seagal isn’t according to director Sheldon Lettich, who is currently trying to launch a sequel to Double Impact which starred Van Damme.

Reportedly this is not a problem as Expendables 2 producer Avi Lerner does not want to work with Seagal at all due to bad experiences in the past.

The original cast including Stone Cold Steve Austin (yes he died in the 1st one) will be returning for the sequel.

Are you excited for The Expendables 2 with Jean-Calude Van Damme? Were you hoping Steve Seagal would join the cast? What former and/or current action star would you want to see in The Expendables 2?

C. Thomas Howell’s Role In Spider-man Revealed

It was recently announced that C. Thomas Howell would have a part in Marc Webb’s reboot of Spider-man.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Howell will play a character named ‘Ray.’

Nothing else is known at this time about the role. Being a loyal reader of Spider-man the only Ray that comes to mind for me is Ray Cooper. Ray is currently the father of Spider-man’s girlfriend Carlie in the comics right now. The character is actually deceased in the comic.

As of right now I haven’t heard anything of Carlie being involved in this film.

Jennifer Love Hewitt To Make Directorial Debut

Jennifer Love Hewitt, star of The Ghost Whisperer is stepping behind the camera to direct an adapation of Wait Till Helen Comes. The script is written by Sanchez Mandryk.

The story centers on a family who recently moves to the Maryland countryside.  The tormented ghost of a little girl suddenly becomes involved with the young daughters of the family. The house was once a church and the little girl’s spirit is only interested in haunting the 12-year old daughter in the family, but forms an intimate and dangerous friendship with her 7-year-old stepsister.

While the film does sound like your typical haunted house and ghost story what is interesting is that the spirit haunts one daughter while becoming friends with the other. Not high on my list to see but doesn’t sound completely bad.

James Gray Directing The Gray Man

Director James Gray according to Deadline is directing an adaptation of Mark Greaney’s CIA thriller The Gray Man.

Written by Adam Coazd the story follows a CIA operative turned assassin who is forced to fight his way against special Special Forces Agent across Europe.

While this sounds like another Jason Bourne film Gray says:

What [Greengrass] did was a documentary style objective approach, and he owns that style. I want to do the opposite, which feels like a good way to sympathize with a professional hitman. You humanize him by never distancing yourself from his experience. This story has emotional stakes that enable me to do that.”

This will be Gray’s first action film.  Even if this is another Jason Bourne type film I don’t mind that so much as long as the action, acting and story is good. I like Gray’s work and look forward to hearing more on this project.
