Cover Art For Black Swan DVD And Blu-Ray

Black Swan was the best film of 2010, no doubt about that in my mind and it has been nominated for Oscars including best actress for Natalie Portman, Best Director for Darren Aronofsky and Best Picture.

Below is the cover art for the DVD and Blu-Ray release.

Cast Of Red State To Reunite For Hit Somebody

Kevin Smith recently announced on his Twitter account that most the cast from Red State will be returning for his upcoming Hockey film Hit Somebody.

Hit Somebody is based on the Warren Zevon song and is the story of Buddy McKraken who wants more than anything to be in the NHL, but he isn’t much of a hockey player and is only good at beating people up and being what hockey fans would call a “goon.” Starring as McKraken is Nicholas Braun, the star of Red State.

Below is a screen shot from the end of Red State that as usual with a Kevin Smith film hypes his next movie:

Instantly Smith was asked about Michael Parks, Melissa Leo and John Goodman returning to work with him, Smith responded:

If [Melissa Leo] she’s not too tired from double-fisting awards all year, GOD YES!

If [John Goodman] he’ll have me again. He’d be playing Blue Jay Jennings – Buddy’s first coach.

He’ll [Michael Parks] be playing the French Canadian coach of Buddy’s first pro team

I’m really looking forward to seeing Red State in Radio City and as a hockey fan I cannot wait for Hit Somebody which according to Kevin Smith will be his last film.

1st Trailer For The Son Of No One Starring Channing Tatum

Channing Tatum stars in The Son Of No One from writer/director Dito Montiel.  Dito Montiel, the director of the underappreciated A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints and Fighting brings another gritty New York story based on his upbringing in Queens.

Channing Tatum appeared in both of Montiel’s previous films and will star in this film as a a young cop who’s assigned to a precinct in the Queens neighborhood where he grew up.  Tatum’s character has a secret that could destroy his and his family’s life.

Co-starring in the films is Al Pacino, Ray Liotta, Katie Holmes, Juliette Binoche and Tracey Morgan.

Check out the trailer from MTV.

It looks like a good film to me. Some really good actors and I liked Montiel’s first film A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints.

The Son Of No One currently has no distributor and will be playing on the closing night of the Sundance Film Festival.

New Images From Source Code Starring Jake Gyllenhaal

Source Code, the new film from Duncan Jones (Moon) is one of my most anticipated films of 2011!  Moon was one of my favorite films the year it came out. It was one of the most smartest and engaging science fiction films to come out in recent years.

Total Film has posted 2 new pictures, 1 from the film and other a production still of Jones directing his two stars, Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan.

Tanner Hall Starring Rooney Mara Getting A Release

Tanner Hall directed by Francesca Gregorini and Tatiana von Furstenberg premiered to some buzz last fall at the Toronto International Film Festival but nothing ever materialized until now.

Anchor Bay is reportedly gearing up to distribute the film.  The reason? Rooney Mara!  Last fall all anybody knew of Rooney Mara was her family’s background in the NFL.  What a difference a few months make.  Since last fall Rooney Mara had a small but important role in David Fincher’s The Social Network and of course she will be starring in Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Tanner Hall is a coming of age story that takes place at a boarding school in a New England town. The story follows four restless teenage girls as they come of age.

Stills From Taylor Lautner’s Abudction

Taylor Lautner, one of the stars from The Twilight Saga is wasting no time in cashing in on his 15 minutes of fame.

Lautner’s next film Abduction is about is his first film post Twilight and centers on a young man who discovers the people who raised him aren’t his real parents and this sets off a chain of events that force him to run for his life.  In an interesting note earlier this week a woman found her real birth parents after being kidnapped from a Harlem hospital 23 years ago, though I doubt it will share any other similarities.

Below are the first stills courtesy of Cinemablend

Abduction hits theaters September 23, 2011.
