John Carter Of Mars, Frankenweenie Release Dates Changed

Andrew Stanton’s John Carter Of Mars was supposed to be released on June 8, 2012 but for some reason Disney has decided to move the sci-fi epic to March 9, 2012. Problem is that is the same day that Ridley Scott’s film Prometheus is scheduled to come out. I highly doubt two science fiction films will go head to head at the box office and it will be interesting to see who blinks first.  I also wonder why Disney is not releasing this film in the summer? Could there be some trouble with the film?

Also getting a new release date is Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, a feature length stop motion adaptation of his short film of the same title. Originally supposed to come out on March 9, 2012 it has been rescheduled to October 5, 2012.
