Kathryn Bigelow Shooting Black-Ops Film This Summer

Kathryn Bigelow’s untitled Black-Ops thrill will begin production this summer. Variety reports that the film has gotten the greenlight by Annapurna Pictures.  The budget is reportedly no more than 10 million dollars.

Details of the film are not widely known except that the film will not be about hunting Osama Bin Laden.  Variety does report that the film is based on:

the true story of a U.S. military black ops mission, the ramifications of which are still being felt around the world. The film took shape after Boal obtained classified information while researching the project. Locations are being scouted, and casting will begin in the coming weeks while Boal finishes the script.

No word on who will be starring in Bigelow’s first film after winning the Oscar for The Hurt Locker. The lack of details I believed really worked in Bigelow’s favor for the Hurt Locker as you went into that film not knowing what to expect.
