Steven Soderbergh talks retirement, Haywire and Contagion

Last month while talking to the LATimes Matt Damon said that his friend and collaborator Steven Soderbergh planned on retiring from filmmaking soon.

Speaking to Rich Eisen of NFL Total Access Soderbergh jokingly said that he and Damon had a few too many drinks when they had that conversation. He never says “yes, I’m retiring” in the article but does not deny it either.

On Haywire Soderbergh says that the film starring MMA fighter and former American Gladiator star Gina Carano will be hitting theaters on April 12.

Soderbergh describes Contagion as a horror film about a deadly outbreak that will involve kid-killing. The film stars Matt Damon and Kate Winslet.
